Course Objectives
The University of London External LLB Degree programme gives immeasurable and unique opportunity to those who want to cover the academic stage towards becoming Lawyers, without necessarily following the traditional norm of physically appearing at the University campus. Yet the standard of examinations and quality of the Degree awarded to both Internal and External students are the same. This flexibility makes the qualification available to numerous candidates all over the world. The law Degree is based purely on common law.

Entry Requirements
GCSE/GCE passes in different subjects, two of which must be at 'A' Level or 4 'AS' Levels or other degree qualifications
Mature students aged 21 or over and who do not have normal entrance requirements may be considered if they have at least one 'A' Level subject
Applicants with any other conventional higher qualifications stand lots of chances (e.g. Diploma holders)

- Plus any optional subject
Part 2 (3rd Year)
- Jurisprudence & Legal Theory
- Plus any other 3 optional subjects
Scheme B (4 Year Programme)
1st Year
Any 3 from the following:
- Criminal Law
- English Legal System
- Constitutional Law
- Elements of Contract Law
2nd Year
The undone subject in the 1st Year. Plus any 2 of the following:
- Law of Tort
- Land Law
- Law of Trusts
3rd Year
The remaining compulsory subjects from 2nd Year. Plus any 2 optional subjects from:
- Family Law
- Revenue Law
- Commercial Law
- Administrative Law
- Evidence
- Company Law
- EC Law
- Succession or Conveyance
- Jurisprudence
- Legal Theory
4th Year
- Jurisprudence
- Legal Theory
Plus any 2 optional subjects in the list provided for the 3rd Year.
Students are strongly advised to add Evidence in their list of subjects as many common law countries have it as a compulsory subject.
Registration and exams
Examinations are held in June and resit examinations are conducted in September.
Career Opportunities
A law degree serves as an academic stage of an LPC (Legal Practice Course) for Solicitors or Bar Finals for Barristers (vocational course for the Barristers). A law degree may also equip you to enter the civil service or in the area of management.
