Course Objective
This is a work based programme designed to help carers acquire skills suitable for helping clients in care settings and at home to develop and maintain their independence.

- A candidate must be working as a carer or
- Be able to get placement in care setting
Course Structure
Core Modules
- Communicate with and complete records for individuals
- Support the health and safety of yourself and individuals
- Develop your knowledge and practice
- Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well being of individuals
Candidates need to choose 2 more modules out of 27 options.
Assessment and Registration
Registration and awarding body fees are paid together with the school fees. The results are assessed by:
- Portfolio building
- External assessment
Career Opportunities
This Course equips the individual to work confidently as care assistants in care Homes such as Nursing Homes, Residential Homes, Hospitals as well as domiciliary care settings. After this Level a candidate may wish to progress onto Level 3 and 4 in Care.
